I absolutely adore catmint!
It is one of those plants that just make my heart sing. I can’t even put it into words how it makes me feel. It is beautiful when underplanted with roses or peonies. But unlike my persnickity roses, and peonies that only last a few days, catmint blooms on and on, and if cut back when finished, it will bloom again at summers’ end.
I have planted it at the base of my rose arbor, in front of the greenhouse where it is absolutely charming.
With an old moss covered cement bench where I can sit and enjoy it’s loveliness.
It’s simple and sweet and needs no words to describe it’s gentle beauty.
My cat was never interested in it, but bees sure do love it.

It is beautiful, and your photos capture its essence. The smell of catmint takes me back to my gran’s garden.

Thank you Ali! You know I’ve never tried to smell it. I must get down on my knees and put my nose to work experiencing my garden. I think I’m missing a lot.
