I love my Canadian Geese! I have had the larger male decoy for over 35 years. And just last spring, I was lucky enough to find the smaller female at a nearby flea market.

The male looks so stately in his alert, protective stance.

And the female, looks calm and relaxed as he watches over her.

Although these geese primarily feel to me like fall and/or winter decor, I can’t bear to put them away during spring or summer. I always seem to find some corner or table to display them on.
And with my recent discovery of digital downloadable art, I found a vintage print that makes a perfect backdrop for them. This print is one of over a thousand you can pick from, on the Etsy shop, Arteex.

The peaceful country setting of this pond was all they needed to seem right at home year round in this corner of my dining room.

They’re an attractive pair and well positioned with the lake view. Coincidentally, I visited a local wetland sanctuary earlier this week. The geese were not well-represented on this occasion but I did catch a decent photo of one pair.
I love Canadian geese. There is something about them that is so special, especially when you hear them honking as they fly over. A lot of people don’t like them because they are so messy, but I’m not one of them. They mesmerize me every time I see them. I’m glad you were able to get close enough to get a nice photo of them.
